CITIBank
CITIBank
Challenge
Johnsons Business Moves was appointed to deliver a clearance and recycling project for CITIBank from their residence at Canada Square in London. In line with their brief we removed circa 700 pieces of redundant furniture from across several floors in the building. After liaising with local charity partners and recycling centres, it was decided the most cost effective way to clear this was to recycle the items due to their age and state of dilapidation.
Solution
Most of the furniture consisted of wooden based products with metal components such as banked desks, pedestals, bookcases, tambour units, cabinets, tables, sofas, chairs and a fireproof safe. The items were broken down by our teams and separated, being segregated and distributed to their respective places for appropriate recycling.
We viewed this as the most critical element of our bid due to the possible disruption the clearance would have on day-to-day working activities.
Our schedule was based on the following:
Timed slots of clearing the floors, which were discussed with the Business Managers and liaised to the rest of the staff using the building
Information correlation and finalisation of the clearance plan and as contingency
Result
Overall the project was a success, with Johnsons’ staff completing the clearance within the given time frames. The Project Supervisor in attendance throughout ensured the clearance ran seamlessly, attending the site two days prior to cross check the legacy list of items against the stock. Experienced, trained and uniformed staff further ensured the clearance process ran smoothly, dismantling and segregating the components of furniture accordingly. The rebate CITIBank received for the metal components was offset against the cost of the project.
