Due to our success on similar projects undertaken at Severn Trent Water and Pinsent Masons, and our collaborative achievement at Loughborough University, our experience and expertise meant we were awarded the prestigious relocation project at West Midlands Trains for Paragon Interiors.



We supplied WMT with a turnkey project management solution for their relocation services, assisting them with the transition of their staff, their current IT and server equipment, office filing and team storage from floors four, five, six and eight at New Street to floors two, three and four at Edmund Street, Birmingham. This included:

Fully inclusive Project Move Management service, overseeing and managing the relocation of 326 staff and associated furniture and equipment

Provision of Fitting Team to remove TV’s and brackets off the walls and dismantle/reassemble desks as required

Fitting Team to dismantle redundant furniture and to dismantle/reassemble bench desks for IT department

Dedicated IT Team to complete the decom/recom of all SKDMs and the de-racking and re-racking of the 2x server racks

Testing of docking station immediately after IT installation

Relocation of heavy safe

Supply and relocation of crates

Clearance and recycling of redundant furniture from the 5th/6th/8th floors

Due to the large amount of staff relocating, a Project Manager was allocated to attend site prior to the commencement of the project, providing enough time to complete planning and validation activities. They were also present throughout the duration of the project, to ensure the relocation was completed seamlessly and in accordance with the agreed plans with Paragon.

As we were presented with a short time frame to finish the project, we completed the crux of the works out over a weekend period. We provided teams to carry out daytime and evening shifts, ensuring the disruption to staff at WMT was kept to a minimum.


Overall the project was a success, with Johnsons’ staff completing the large relocation process in the given time frame. The Project Manager in attendance throughout ensured the relocation ran seamlessly, attending the site two days prior to check everything was prepared for the move.

Experienced, trained and uniformed staff further ensured the relocation process ran smoothly, dismantling and relocating IT equipment to the new site accordingly.
